Q What is the recruitment process?
A Having screened your application, if you fit our selection criteria, you will be invited to attend an initial interview. If you are successful at this stage, you will then be invited to attend a second interview usually at one of our stores. We will ensure that you are notified of the outcome of all interviews as soon as possible. (Should there be no position currently available your resume will be filed for review once an appropriate position becomes available.)
Q What are the store opening hours?
A Stores are open from 7.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 5.30pm Saturdays and 10.00am to 4.00pm on Sundays. Staff work five days out of seven and may include weekend work.
Q Will I have to work weekends?
A As our business welcomes customers seven days a week, it is important for our team to be on hand to interact with them. Accordingly you will be asked to be available to work on weekends. This is often on a rotational basis.
Q Will I have to relocate?
A Not necessarily, although this happens from time to time. Typically store staff will live within thirty minutes travelling time from their store, we do ask our staff to be flexible if they have to cover a position at a near by store
Q Will I receive training?
A Yes. We are committed to investing in the training and development of all our employees.
Q What benefits would I be entitled to?
A We of course provide all of the mandated benefits you would expect from your employer. Perhaps our most important benefit is the opportunity for you to participate in our Bonus program. Importantly our Bonus programs are not capped, which means we do not limit the opportunity for you to earn rewards.
Q What is the structure of our stores?
A Each store operates in small teams of two to four staff. Each store is run by a Sales Manager, who is supported by Sales Consultants. The Sales Managers are overseen by the General Manager.
Q What are the promotional prospects at Big Box?
A Big Box is committed to expanding. In our experience this provides opportunities for employees to open new stores. |
